Why are all the best pictures views from the interstate?

To keep my camera from spending most of its time in my closet, I have given myself a challenge for 2014; a picture a day for the year. I'm hoping this will improve my camera skills and push my creativity. I'm lucky enough to live in a part of the country where winter weather doesn't mean days of snow, ice and extremely cold temperatures so I shouldn't be trapped by bad weather. Naturally, every time I'm out and about I'm looking for potential subjects to photograph and I've noticed something. I see some of the best views of the mountains, prettiest sunsets and interesting subjects while driving down the interstate.

*sigh*

I want to work on my photography and creativity, not add to my list of frustrations.
